渴望

"我想找 命运的轮盘
用我的双手运转...
我相信 黑暗的反面就是希望的曙光
夜里太阳!
Sunrise In The Dark!" - 曙光

我实在、的确、真的好想找到我命运的轮盘用我的双手运转! 我要看到黑夜里太阳! Where's my sunrise in the dark?!?!?!?

National Day

9th August 2005. Singapore celebrates her 40th birthday today! For a start, let me wish Singapore a happy birthday!

How did I celebrate this day? Well...I visited my aunt's for lunch. I wore a red top in celebration of this day. Nothing special there though. Watched TV most of the time, till around 4.00 pm.

Thereafter, I went over to the Celebrations @ Tampines! There was a sea of red-whites in at the audience seating area, all armed with NDP'05 Funpacks of assorted colours. Emcees Michelle Chia, Guo Liang and Aaron Aziz were there to host the event. Prior to LIVE telecast of the NDP, the emcees shared some activities with the crowd. Dance No. 40 (dance for Reach Out For The Skies) was rehearsed time and again. The crowd was reminded to have their tamborines, flags and torches (resemblance of a Nokia mobile phone) ready for the pre-parade segment.

I decided to browse around the exhibitions set up by several organisations, e.g. The SAF, RSAF, RSN, The Straits Times... I was really fasinated by the exhibition by The Straits Times. Articles from its 1st issue till the latest current affairs were on display. Hmm... In the 1970s, males with long hair (sideburn reaching end of earlobe and hair touching collar) are forbidden to enter Singapore. They had to visit the nearest barber shop 50m away to get a haircut before the authorities gave them permit to enter Singapore. Walking through the exhibits seemed as if one is walking down (The Straits Times') memory lane.

Thereafter, I joined in the celebrations at the audience seating area. Obviously, there weren't any seats left. I searched for a good angle at the side of the crowd and watched the NDP standing up. The NDP celebration ended at around 8.25pm.

At my quickest pace, I rushed back to my aunt's, hoping to catch the premier of Shooting Stars on time. I had one blister on each foot which made my trip from Celebrations @ Tampines back to my aunt's a painful one. By the time I reached my aunt's, I've already missed the 8 mins of Shooting Stars. Well, at least I get to watch most of the premier of Shooting Stars. I'm so glad my favourite Singapore Idol Finalists Jessea Thyidor and Olinda Cho stars in Shooting Stars! In my opinion, and backed up by the SI judges, those girls have the best voices in the competition. I can see that judges were unhappy when Jeassea was eliminated in the 1st round of the finals, and Florence Lian even cried when Olinda was eliminated...
Now, back to the topic. After watching Shooting Stars, I watched Full Circle. The 1st episode featured a heartfelt true story of two long-lost twin sisters reuniting. I had my share of National Day and it was time for me to head home. My father came to bring me home after my long day.
