Musically Talented

After some analysis, I realised that out of my generation of my maternal family tree, all of us have a mind for music. My mother believed it was the credit of my maternal grandfather, and we had inherited some of his genes. He was musically talented. He was able to play the ruan and the violin flawlessly without any guidance from instructors. Anyway, both instruments were given to him as gifts, and he learned to play both of them all by himself.

Well, he has 10 grandchildren; 5 of them are grandsons and the other 5 are granddaughters. 2 out of 5 grandsons, and 4 out of 5 granddaughters play the piano. 1 grandson plays the violin; another plays a guitar, and my brother plays the euphonium. 1 granddaughter plays the guzheng as well. Not forgetting myself, I am a percussionist, and drums are my choice.

Reflecting back, I had learnt how to play 5 different musical instruments so far. Starting from the piano, then to the recorder, trumpet (cornet), euphonium and the drums. Now, I’m learning how to play the keyboard and I’m planning to learn how to play the guitar and flute. I’m may be making Music my life, an alternative to Science of course. Music sure brought joy and happiness to me, and once again, I would like to thank my grandfather. :)
